Inter-faith Relations to air in NY and CT on Cablevision 29 and 137 and
FiOS 296; and streaming simultaneously at www.telecaretv.org

(Uniondale, NY) Intolerance, bigotry, bullying, persecution… all stem from a lack of understanding and acceptance of our differences.  The award-winning series, Exploring Critical Issues, conceived and hosted by Adelphi University President Robert A. Scott, explores how we can build inter-faith relations as a path for sharing common concerns rather than condemning one another for different beliefs.   The program “Inter-faith Relations” will air for two weeks beginning May 12.

“In this program we ask the questions:  How can I be true to my faith without being false to yours,” said Dr. Scott. “How can we learn to respect those who practice beliefs different from our own?”

Joining Dr. Scott in the discussion are Rabbi Dr. Barry Dov Schwartz; Reverend Msgr. Donald Beckmann, Director, Office of Ecumenical and Inter-religious Affairs, Diocese of Rockville Center; Reverend Dr. Jerome Taylor; and Dr. Hussein Rashid, Hofstra University.

The hour-long Inter-faith Relations broadcast will air over two weeks, beginning May 12 as follows:  Saturdays, May 12 and May 19 at 10:30 p.m.; Sundays, May 13 and May 20 at 7:00 a.m.; Mondays, May 14 and May 21 at 10:30 p.m.; and Fridays, May 18 and May 25 at 1:00 p.m.  “Inter-faith Relations” can be viewed on Cablevision channels 29 (Long Island) and 137 (Connecticut and NY area outside of Long Island), Verizon FiOS channel 296 (including NY and Fairfield, CT) and simultaneously online at www.telecaretv.org.

Seen by over seven million households, Exploring Critical Issues has earned three Telly Awards, the cable equivalent of the Emmy.
